History 2009

The SUBWAY Super Series started with a close game in Drummondville.  Goaltender Jake Allen and forwards Luke Adam and Gabriel Bourque distinguished themselves in such a fashion they earned invites to the Team Canada selection camp and eventually made the team.  The second game against Team QMJHL was the lone lopsided score of the series as the hosts registered the first regulation-victory sweep of the Russians since 2006.

From there the Russians were on the short end of identical 5-2 scorelines in Ontario before two more close games followed in Western Canada.  Despite the relatively even play, the Russians went home winless producing just five victories in six years.  The sustained run by the hosts is highlighted by Team OHL's perfect 14-0-0 record.
