History 2006

Team QMJHL dominated en route to a 6-2 victory in the first game of the 2006 ADT Canada Russia Challenge. Team QMJHL outshot Team Russia by a 17-4 margin in the first period. The QMJHL stars won the second game of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge 4-3 in front of 2,301 fans thanks to a strong two-goal performance by forward Marc-Andre Cliche, which earned him the ADT player of the game award.

The OHL stars handed two more losses to the Russian Selects leaving the series at 4-0 for the CHL. Game three resulted in a 5-0 win while game four was a closer match with a score of 4-3. In game two Steve Mason of the London Knights was exceptional in the OHL net. He turned aside 24 shots, including a point-blank stop on Vadim Shipachev with two minutes left on the clock to preserve the win.

Prince George Cougars defenseman Ty Wishart scored two goals to pace Team WHL to a 5-3 victory over the Russian Selects in game five of the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack, B.C. The following night Calgary Hitmen forward Brodie Dupont scored three goals and added an assist to pace Team WHL to a convincing 8-1 victory over the Russian Selects in the finale of the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in Kamloops, B.C. The win improved Team WHL to a perfect 8-0 versus the Russians in the four-year history of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge, and improves the CHL to 6-0 versus Russia in the 2006 edition of the event after Team QMJHL and Team OHL each won both of their contests versus the Russian Selects.
