Guillaume Latendresse powered Team QMJHL to a 7-4 win over the Russian Selects in the first game of the 20 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in Drummondville, Quebec. Latendresse, who plays for the hometown Voltigeurs, scored three goals, including the game-winner in the second period for the QMJHL stars. For the second straight game, Latendresse was the QMJHL's top player. In Moncton, Latendresse scored two goals to pace the QMJHL to a 6-4 win over the Russian Selects.
Wojtek Wolski, the captain of the Brampton Battalion scored three goals and added an assist to pace the OHL to a 5-2 win in game three over the Russian Selects in ADT Canada Russia Challenge in Kitchener. In game four Liam Reddox of the hometown Peterborough Petes scored two goals to help the OHL All-Stars to a 5-1 win over the Russia Selects.
Devin Setoguchi scored three goals, including the game-winner early in the second period, to pace the WHL to a 9-2 win over the Russian Selects in the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in Saskatoon. In the final game Kyle Chipchura scored a goal and an assist to pace the WHL stars to a 3-1 win over the Russian Selects in Regina. The CHL won all 6 games in the series.
Guillaume Latendresse, playing on a line with his brother Olivier, finished off a nice passing play in the second period while the QMJHL stars were on the powerplay. He added an insurance marker in the third period to seal the win.
Team QMJHL kept Russian goalie, Semen Varlamov busy. Varlamov stopped 38 shots during the contest.
Brampton Battalion star Wojtek Wolski started the season in the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche. "I've been thinking about it a lot and knew that I needed to have a good game here," said Wolski, who has played in all three ADT Canada-Russia Challenge series. "I know I'm under the microscope right now. I just wanted to have a good game."
